3 Ways to turn Good Interview Answer into a Great One

I talk a lot about providing a good interview answer. But hey what about making it a great interview answer? What about repeating that process and making most if not all great answers? Not really as hard as you think. The trick is in the tweaking of your answers.

1. During the Interview Ask if You Have Answered Clearly: NEVER assume the your interviewer understood your answer. Even if body language suggests (and body language is everything) they did. When you finish your answer ask them "did that answer your question?" Now this would seem to be clear common sense. Yet you would be amazed how many people miss that small yet significant detail.

2. Laugh when asked a Tough Question: Laugh then immediately recall a ana0logy that you use and compare with the duties of the position. Here is an example they ask you to name the most difficult challenge in your last position. you first smile and laugh and say "haha that"s easy trying to not over work myself because I loved the job. For instance there was this time I over delivered to this clients because..."

You just told them the following in that one answer:

* You liked your past position

*You are a hard worker

*Your friendly and and client centric

3. Deliver Firm Analogies to Fierce Competency questions: This requires that you KNOW both the company and the position your interviewing for in detail. As long as you always bring this back to the position and the company you will look excellent.

A few other things to note. I cannot stress the importance of your body language. Sit up, never cross your legs, speak in a firm and excited tone. Now is not the time to be humble or modest. Now is the time to sell the hiring manger on you. Because their reputation is on the line. Delivering those great answers involves a combination of all of the above.
