The significance of job requirements
Job requirements can be broadly classified into many categories:ò˘ Specific: In this category, one looks to specific requirements which would directly contribute to the performance of the employee in a particular position. It takes into account-
˙˜ Education: Educational qualifications and performance comprises the fundamentals of any job requirements. It is especially important if it is your first job as the employer has no other way of judging if you meet the requirements˙˜ Experience: After qualifications, the employer looks for the number of years you have worked in a position so that he gets an idea of how much you know about the job and can accordingly decide your job responsibilities and salary.
˙˜ Skills: Only education and experience is not enough to excel in a job; there are many skills and qualities that a person must possess, like team spirit, analytical ability, sincerity, calm, communication skills etc.
ò˘ Company requirements: There are some factors which are common for all jobs and can be applied no matter where you work. But there are certain requirements which are company specific. These can be further classified into the following:
˙˜ Culture: Every office has certain culture and values which must be followed by the employee˙˜ Other requirements: According to the company, the employee may be expected to follow certain rules in terms of clothes, etiquette or other company policies.
